(l-r: Lauren & Mary, Taima, Lola, Striker & Tilly)
Welcome to Goldiva Goldens! My daughter, Lauren, and I have raised
Goldens competitively for AKC & CKC performance titles since
2001. Our dogs are not kennel dogs, but live indoors as personal
companions with our family or in show homes or pet therapy homes.
Our puppies are wonderfully socialized with my younger children
and half the neighborhood since I'm one of the few mothers that
work from home with visa/mc sales for merchants. My schedule is
flexible for both kids & dog shows. Our pups go to their new
homes around 8 weeks of age. All puppies are examined by our veterinarian,
Dr. Mark Mason, complete with health records on each puppy including
vaccines and de-worming given by us.
Goldiva Golden puppies are sent out with Limited Registration
papers with the American Kennel
Club (AKC) with spay/neuter contracts. All of
our health clearances can be verified thru the Orthopedic
Foundation for Animals (OFA). All pedigrees are
linked to k9data.com which is a website just for Golden Retrievers.
Show puppies are available to experienced breeders who exhibit
their dogs.
Our Puppy
Contract requires you to sign up for puppy obedience classes.
We keep our growing pups in obedience training the first year,
then fine tuning with handling classes. We use the clicker training
method and our trainers Sherry Britton at Pet
Positive in Gorham, Maine or Diana Logan at Pet
Connection of Maine either private lessons in your home or
available thru Planet Dog in Portland. Lauren & I work and
show our Goldens in Conformation, Field, Obedience and Pet Therapy.
Besides raising beautiful Goldens in North Yarmouth, Lauren worked
at Maranatha Kennels
with June and Stephen Cawood where she trained our dogs for field
work. I work with PowerPay.biz as a Visa/MC Rep for merchant processing
and work from my home in Cumberland. Prior to visa/mc sales, I
used to be the Publisher for 3 magazines over 7 years until pregnant
with my 4th child. Magazines published included: Central
Square Times (circ. 25,000) Greater Portland's Good News
Magazine focusing on Art, History & Entertainment; Family
Heath (circ. 70,000 inserted into 4 newspapers for distribution
and mailed to every Dr.'s office & hospital statewide) focusing
on traditional & alternative medicine including practitioner
profiles; and, Kid's Ink (circ. 25,000 distributed
to every school & library in the State of Maine) focusing
on art & literary submissions, music & drama from Junior
to Senior High school including student profiles. So, the "ink"
is in the blood...and we believe in educating our buyers! We're
constantly learning new things thru our dogs too and like to share
with others. Currently we're up to 40 articles that we give our
puppy buyers before they pick up their puppy...so load your printer!
We
have loved our Goldens for over 25 years. They have the best temperament
for families, kids, active people or senior companions. They are
easy to train and want to please their owners. Socializing them
as young puppies is so important as well as introducing them to
different situations and locations. Dont create just a backyard
dog. They will go with you anywhere and with proper training,
they will never embarrass you. They may chew the plastic toys
or the leg to the coffee table if theyre bored but theyd
rather be by your side. They will be your best friend for life
with unconditional love! (l-r: Sisters Blossom
& Kylee, Lady/Boomer 03)

Help cure breast cancer one pink tulip at a time!
We are creating a pink tulip garden on the corner of Main Street
and Tuttle Road filled with 1000 pink tulip bulbs. Help us beautify
our community and raise breast cancer awareness. Your donation
to our pink tulip garden will help honor friends while fighting
cancer. You can make your donation in honor or in memory of a
friend or loved one. Funds raised will beneifit the Women's Cancer
Fund at Maine Cancer Foundation and help support cancer research
and patients programs here in Maine. 100% of these funds stay
in Maine. Help us beautify our community while raising awareness
and funds for Women's Cancer Research.
We will be planting between October 15-26. If you would like
to volunteer for planting prep please contact Mary at k9golden@maine.rr.com.
